At UPNicaragua we believe in the power of our global community.
Get involved and make an impact.
When you purchase a 'Ripple & Folk' handmade product you are funding scholarships and tutoring programs for undeserved Nicaraguan girls.
“Every time you spend money, you're casting a vote for the kind of world you want.” -Anna Lappé
All of our education programs are primarily funded through 'Ripple & Folk' product sales. Developing new partnerships with socially and ethically conscious marketplaces in your country is the most impactful way in which you can lend a hand.
Selling more products = more opportunities
We welcome volunteers who want to teach UPNicaragua girls a specific skill. Minimum requirements: Spanish, and 3-week minimum time commitment.
Desired skills: yoga, dance, arts, blogging, communication, goal-setting skills, career opportunities.
We are a small organization, whether its in Nicaragua or abroad you can get involved & lend a hand with: Fundraising, Building strategic partnerships with other organizations and schools and managing information.
Teacher trainers help us improve the quality of teaching and learning in our tutoring program. Observe teaching and provide feedback, co-teach and give demonstration lessons and conduct learning discussions with other teachers.
We work with local Nicaraguan artisans to develop new 'Ripple & Folk' products (handcrafted necklaces, bracelets, pouches, home products). If you love fashion and have an eye for design, please join us in this collective dream to close the gender gap!
Marketing and blogging volunteers are passionate about helping us tell the world about the challenges girls face in Nicaragua as well as about the work we do with UPN and Ripple & Folk.
